Utility & permits
Who handles what.
Xcel Energy supplies power to most of the area; a few fringe areas of the north metro are on other providers, so check your bill. Outages and anything on the utility side of the meter are theirs.
Arvada, Westminster, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Lakewood and Broomfield each run their own building divisions for permits and inspections; unincorporated areas go through the county. We pull the permit for you.
